June's certifications and qualifications
As an ICAN & INTODogs Accredited Canine Behaviourist and Accredited Canine Trainer both KSA (Knowledge and Skills Assessed), June only works using holistic, positive, rewards-based methods. She specialises in building confidence in anxious and fearful dogs and raising emotionally well-adjusted, happy puppies.
June works closely with local vets, canine therapists and nutrition specialists.
As co-founder of u-TICC together my colleague and I have devised programmes for breeders, puppy trainers and dog owners/guardians, all designed to prevent many of the common behavioural issues canine behaviourists see every day.
As a holder of the Ofqual regulated Award in Education and Training, June is qualified to teach, train, coach and tutor in Sixth Form colleges, Universities, Adult Education Centres, prisons, charities and, of course, for u-TICC and other online schools.
You may know June through her association with The ISCP (International School for Canine Psychology and Behaviour) where June was the former co-owner, director, principal and tutor of the school. June is immensely proud to have been involved in the education of many of today's canine behaviourist around the world.
The Dog Only Knows Ethos
To live with a dog that is enjoying life, happy to cooperate with us and has learned basic good manners is what most pet parents dream of having in their lives. Unfortunately, many dogs have not had a great start in life, and for one reason or another they find it hard to socialise with strangers or other dogs, have become scared of everyday objects, situations and, sadly, some have suffered a trauma. Understanding how a dog's behaviour is affected by the events in their past, and the demands of their current lifestyle, is a major step towards helping them become the happy dog of your (and their) dreams.
For some dogs, the reality is that they just find it hard to understand what their owners require of them, and this can cause confusion, stress and frustration and not just you, but in your dog too! Improving how you communicate with each other can be quite a simple thing to do once you know how!
Before we meet, I will send you a questionnaire about your dog and I may also ask you to see your vet to rule out any medical reasons for sudden changes in behaviour. If you would like to discuss the issues you have with your dog in complete confidence and without judgement, please email me, or use my Contact Form.
Together we can decide if you and your dog would benefit from an in-depth consultation and a bespoke behaviour modification plan or just a short visit to put you on the right track. I am based on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border and cover Andover, Amesbury, Salisbury, Stockbridge, Winchester, and the surrounding villages.
It is a sad fact that in the UK at the moment anyone can call themselves a dog behaviourist and trainer so I would highly recommend that you only approach someone who is trained to offer you advice.
